WHAT A WILD WEEK !

Thanksgiving week started out in a very unusual way!
LOOK CLOSELY . . . yep, this is snow on our shamrock! On TUESDAY morning "we looked out our window and what did we see?"
SNOW-SNOW-SNOW!

Very seldom could someone make a snow ball in Port Orford!
(Someone from Michigan has had alot of practice!)

Later that day Wendy's family arrived after traveling for three days from Houston.

We got her moved into her beautiful new house in just two hours!
(We did not get pictures of the moving in event.)

Then later after we had moved Wendy into her new house, Sarah and David
arrived at our house from Portland.
The "little missy" (as Sarah calls her) was not fond of the long ride.
We were so very happy that everyone had arrived safely!

Relaxing was just what everyone needed!

Except David! He started in at 6:00 a.m. on Thursday
making his famous cresant rolls! Yummmmm!

Others just had fun sitting and having important conversations!

On WEDNESDAY Sarah's kids wanted to go to the beach.

During a short "sunbreak" we went to Agate Beach.
There is a little trail to get to the ocean.

THEN THERE IT IS!

Joelle found the most treasures.

THURSDAY we were at our friend's Joan and Jeans house for Thanksgiving dinner.
We had a wonderful time with good food, good friends, and Wendy and Sarah's
families safely here. We felt so blessed!

We all forgot to bring our cameras!

We also forgot to take our pictures on FRIDAY.
We took Wendy out for fish and chips at "Griff's on the Dock".
HAPPY BIRTHDAY WENDY ANNE!

SATURDAY we spent the afternoon at Wendy's new house.
The cousins had so much fun together.

It was mostly time for "chilling out".
We were not at all excited about saying goodbye to Jose as he left for Pensicola.
After Jose left Maricela wanted some private time with Grandpa and Grandma.
Difficult to say what is more beautiful . . .the girl or the ocean!
What a beautiful way to end a busy week!

FOWL PLAY!

For some reason I love seagulls! I just think they are rather"curious" birds and very fun to watch. I don't remember ever seeing so many in one place as this evening when we were taking our walk along Agate Beach. They were very tame and did not mind us being close to them. I don't remember ever feeling like taking a picture of a pigeon when we lived in Arizona. (Unlike Bert from Sesame Street, I don't think pigeons are that interresting.) However, everytime I see a seagull up close, I want to get its photograph!

I have been throwing bread out in our yard expecting to feed the little finches and sparrows in the neighborhood. Why was I not surprised that the intellegent (and street smart) seagulls and crows found the bread first!

Eventually, the smaller birds had their chance. I guess they were satisfied with the "crumbs" that the seagulls and black birds left behind.
Sinced we moved to Oregon I have been collecting birdhouses. Just seemed like the thing to do!
Some birds like to be away from the crowd, I guess.
One afternoon when we were sitting watching the waves we had quite a surprise!
This gull flew up onto the hood of our car!
How awesome is that! (We were pretty excited until he left his "calling card" on the hood!)
Now you understand the title of this post!
