A SUMMER SATURDAY IN FEBRUARY

We have been having such beautiful weather
here on the Southern Oregon Coast. The ocean colors have been just magnificent!
The fishermen have finally been able to go "crabbing'.
(There is a boat in this picture if you search hard enough.)
This past Saturday we took advantage of the "summer-like" weather
and went "treasure hunting". WE LOVE YARD SALES!
(At least one of us loves them and one of us tolerates them out of love.)

We found a little lantern for the table and a few
"grandkid games". Now we just need some grandkids
to come and spend some time playing games!
(When a "winter-like" Saturday comes along we will be prepared!)
After the yard sales we went to the
LANGLOIS LIBRARY BOOK SALE !
There were thousands of books!
Dad had a fun time looking at all kinds of books
while I headed to the children's book section.
I bought forty books for six dollars!
Now I need a rainy day and someone to read to.

BOOKTIME WITH GRANDMA ANYONE?

I even found a book that took me back to
"long ago in a galaxy far, far away"!
This is the kind of "readers" we had in my grade school.
I felt like I was seven years old again reading this one.
After our fun with book and treasure hunting we
made our usual stop at the post office.
(This is a daily treat and a highlight in our usually dull routine.)
We also stopped by the one of our favorite places...
CAPE BLANCO LIGHTHOUSE.
There is a little trail that leads to one of our
"secret spots".
We can sit on this bench for hours and just watch the
lighthouse and the ships and the surf.

IS THIS BEAUTIFUL OR WHAT?

I did get a picture of the light house with the light shining
but it was too small to share. I think it only took me about
fifteen attempts to get it at just the right time.
(Dad kept counting and saying "Now!")
We love our little lighthouse.
So, we had a wonderfully busy Saturday.
Sure beats sitting home watching Shirley Temple Videos.
(Some of you will know what that means.)
We are so very blessed to live in this special place called Oregon!
